Clicking one of the small 'up-arrow' icons at the left of an item expands the linked outline in place.

The main blogroll is an OPML outline. Each linked level is maintained in a separate OPML outline. Those linked outlines may be published by the same author, from the same computer, or by a different person on a separate system, depending on the link specified within the master outline.
